  1. randomly catching a ride to work with a friend on a day when I was very late, and making it to the office with three minutes to spare.
  2. how good I felt right up until I blacked out at work.
  3. getting in to see a doctor without having to wait.
  4. being told to nap for the rest of the day!
  5. doing my taxes and not owing any money!

  1. watching a movie on the couch with a friend, and both falling asleep because the conditions were perfect for napping.
  2. indulging in an afternoon of Leonard Cohen.
  3. having an important person in my life tell me that when she thinks about strong, independent, intelligent, talented woman, she thinks of me.
  4. eating the giant piece of chocolate cake I’d been thinking about all day.
  5. going to bed early because I want to and I can.

  1. eating delicious food that I didn’t have to make.
  2. spending the day with one of my closest friends whom I haven’t seen in a week and a half.
  3. roasted lamb.
  4. being very, very open about many different things.
  5. still having the energy to post things on my blog even though I’m tired, and the wine was flowing very freely today.

  1. going on my first blind date ever, and having it not be a terrible experience.
  2. friends who check up on you to make sure you’re not dead while on the blind date.
  3. elaborate escape plans in case the date isn’t going well.
  4. friends who invite you over to hear how the date went, and while they are listening, they also make you a sandwich.
  5. meeting new people, even if there aren’t really any sparks.
