  1. finally reaching the end of a 6 day work week.
  2. going for supper with a friend who you haven’t seen in a week even though she lives three floors down in your apartment building, and catching up on everything you’ve missed.
  3. free dessert because someone messed up your order.
  4. inside jokes with friends that come from conversations where one or both parties are very, very tired.
  5. having a friend who helps you try and come up with a fifth thing to put on your ‘grace in small things’ list because all you can think about is the Hamburglar.

housewarming.

I have things to say again, apparently. I stopped writing for awhile because I was mildly terrified of the idea that anyone searching my name (in relation to my artwork or my current job) would find my blog in which I write about being terrorized by pigeons and having an overly-dramatic breakdown when it snows. These topics, while possibly entertaining, are not how I want to present myself in the professional world. So, here we are.

Welcome to my new home.  Make yourself comfortable while I fix you a drink.

  1. getting pre-sale tickets to leonard cohen.
  2. qualifying for pre-sale tickets because I was coerced into becoming a best buy rewards member by a pushy cashier a year and a half ago.
  3. being too lazy to unsubscribe to the mildly annoying best buy rewards emails.
  4. having a subconscious that KNEW I’d desperately want to go see leonard cohen, and therefore tapped into my inner sloth to prevent me from dealing with the annoying emails.
  5. receiving an email (of the previously annoying variety) that said I qualify for the tickets.
  6. leonard cohen.  dude.

A side street that I love to walk down, but don’t get the chance to very often.  This wall reminds me of one of my former lives – the second life that I’ve had since moving here – it didn’t last long, that life, but it was nice, until it wasn’t.  I’m now firmly rooted in my third life, and that second one is kind of hazy, just like the picture.

  1. the homeless man who said ‘take me home, beautiful’ instead of asking me for spare change.
  2. snorting involuntarily and then giggling to myself on a busy street because a homeless man asked me to take him home and no one else heard it.
  3. tearing down paper that was covering windows and then stomping on it.
  4. wasabi peas.
  5. knowing that the only things I have to do tonight are take a hot bath and go to bed.
