1. seeing my daughter’s face light up when she learns she is getting her first real bike.
2. having a clean house at the start of a busy weekend.
3. “I’m not available for waiting. I’m available for eating!” – Our very hungry 4 year old, in the middle of the hardware store, after being told that she needs to be patient for a little while longer.
4. buying an electric smoker for our soon-to-be outdoor kitchen, after talking about getting one for years.
5. a customer service experience that starts out rough but ends up being great.

1. unexpectedly hearing Tim Gunn voice children’s cartoon characters.
2. exploring our neighbourhood puddles on a rainy day.
3. buying birthday presents early (instead of leaving it to the last minute like I usually do).
4. getting our daughter her first real LEGO set.
5. eating dark chocolate and salted caramel ice cream straight out of the container.
