  1. being able to talk to people who love you when you are having a very unhappy morning.
  2. no matter how bad a situation, never losing your sense of humour.
  3. having a conversation with someone that turns your whole day around, and having that conversation inspire them as much as it helped you.
  4. not regretting decisions.
  5. taking a dear friend out for dinner to say thank you for everything they have done for you recently.

  1. waking up to a clean apartment.
  2. running errands for work in the morning which meant spending time outside enjoying the beautiful weather.
  3. the glorious napping possibilities that await me this weekend.
  4. selecting songs for the dance party I’m going to be having with myself ten minutes from now.
  5. knowing that I’m going to be the best dancer at the dance party.  And probably the best looking too.

  1. getting to spend the day doing my favourite thing at work.
  2. getting praise for how well I do that part of my job.
  3. popcorn made on the stove.
  4. extra butter and salt on the popcorn because that’s how I like it, and I live by myself so no one can judge me, except my fish, but I don’t listen to him because he eats bloodworms and swims in a circle. 
  5. run on sentences.

  1. spontaneous trips out of the city.
  2. uneventful ferry trips that allow me to catch up on work.
  3. being able to tune out the chatter of 50 young asian students all in matching uniforms – the girls with the same haircut and the boys with the same bored expression.
  4. giving a ride to a Korean Mary Kay representative who was stranded at the ferry.
  5. getting free stuff, and the promise of a free facial from the Korean Mary Kay rep as a thank you for driving her home.
