  1. the piece of paper carefully folded and tucked into a crack in a brick wall that reminds me of Boo Radley’s tree.
  2. the anticipation of finding out what colour the flowers on my hibiscus tree will be.
  3. falling in love with an empty room and wanting to roll around on its hardwood floors and whisper sweet nothings to the glass in the windows.
  4. putting on a favourite dress that I haven’t worn in years, and remembering why I’ve kept it for so long.
  5. hearing the cheers of my city, unified and ecstatic, even though the excitement is brought on by a hockey game.

  1. the cricket sound my computer has started making that reminds me of camping, even though it probably means that the computer is going to explode.

  3. the two inches that my newly potted plant has grown in the last four days after being forced to live in a tiny plastic pot for eight months because I’m a plant abuser.
  4. the words “flopping” and “sprawling” in relation to couches.
  5. the acrobatic tricks Kit Fishto is doing, because he can sense that I’m having trouble coming up with a fifth thing for my list, and he wants to give me something to write about.

  2. the $60 I discovered I had when I counted my spare change.
  3. root beer in glass bottles.
  4. the computer glitch that magically fixed itself after causing problems for a week.

  3. being greeted with a piece of pizza from a friend after a busy day at work, because they know you that well.

  5. having a whole weekend of art related activities planned.
