  3. busting out dance moves while walking down the sidewalk.
  4. watching your shadow as you bust out dance moves on the sidewalk.
  5. setting up fake battles between your exotic fruit.

  1. the jeep full of obviously gay men, with matching polo shirts and bleach blonde hair that drove past my office window this morning.
  2. the earplugs I wore all afternoon to drown out the sound of the buskers.
  3. no longer feeling as if my ear drums are trying to kill me.
  4. managing to eat and walk and not get food all over myself.
  5. the blog post that is going to come out of my trip to the symphony tonight.

  1. recognizing a house in a reality show as the house in another reality show you used to watch.
  2. remembering that you shouldn’t feel guilty about not getting anything done all day because you are home sick and aren’t actually capable of getting anything done even if you wanted to.
  3. getting checked out by the young guys in the apartment building across the alley because it’s a nice change from getting checked out by the creepy old guy in the apartment building across the alley.
  4. hands that end up covered in balsamic glaze because it means that very soon chicken covered in balsamic glaze will be in your stomach.
  5. the lone mosquito in your apartment because it means that it’s summer.

  2. the heart-shaped potato chip I found and then ate.
  3. coca-cola’s hybrid electric delivery truck.
  4. the look of sheer joy that came over my face when my friend brought me a giant freezie.
  5. actually writing something.
